Time has come to fight against global warming before it’s too late. To fight with Global warming we need to act on local issues. When we breathe in we need a tree to breathe Out Oxygen, when we breathe out we need a tree to breath in carbon dioxide. From where comes the tree? They are outcome of the pollination done by insects & spreading of seeds done by birds & other mammals. There are thousands of such interconnections between various species on earth in which Human is just a part.

* Initiative to Save Narmada River & Its Forest

Any river including Narmada can survive only when it is accompanied with healthy forest. Life of river is totally dependent on its forest as forest work as reservoir and release water into the river throughout the year. Many cases are present where river has become seasonal due to destruction of its forest.

* Issue
Environment clearance for construction of dam on river narmada in 1987 was given with the condition to declare following area as protected area to mitigate the loss of submerged forest area & wildlife -
1. Narmada National Park
2. Omkareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary
3. Surmanya Sanctuary

More than 20 years has passed but no state government till date has declared it as protected area by notification. We urge state government under the leadership of Honorable Shivraj Singh Chauhan to declare the area as protected with no delay.

* Importance
1. Declarations of area as protected areas are important to save Madhya Pradesh for water shortage which in turn will result in poor crop and food shortage.
2. 1,50,000 people had displaced from there home situated in 254 submerged villages. We cannot just let go there sacrifices they did for us so that we can get electricity & water.
3. For those who cannot raise their voice by their own i.e. wild animals, who cannot vote. They are the most important part of eco-system and are symbol of a healthy forest.
