Society for Nature Education & Habitats (SNEH) is a Non-profit Organization registered under Societies registration Act. SNEH is working in the field of Environment Education & Habitat Conservation & legal activism through public interest litigation and persistent advocacy with media, opinion makers and other stakeholders. SNEH is active from more than 6 years

SNEH has been fighting on various issues of environmental and wildlife importance. Some of the major issues are –

• SNEH is fighting the issues for the declaration of a national park and two sanctuaries specified at the time of giving environment clearance for the construction of dam on river Narmada. Issue is currently in front of CEC (Center Empowerment Committee)

• SNEH also took up the issue of tree-cutting in Indore. Mass natural destruction had being done in the name of development. We fought legally for around 2 years and were successful to a limited extent.

• SNEH was involved since the beginning in the issue of Ralamanda Sanctuary along with various other partner NGO’s. We created public awareness with the help of various groups to tackle the issue which is of much importance for Indore city.

• We do conduct Environment Education program “Kids for Tiger” in various schools across Indore. This program also included ‘Tiger Mela’ where a number of schools would participate at a time and come together to celebrate nature. We also conducted workshops for teachers as well as film festivals for kids to make them aware of nature’s importance.

• We organizes Bird Watching camps at Sirpur Lake & Yashwantsagar for fostering public interest in nature.
